Trading in Legend Of The Cryptids

legend of the cryptids trading

legend of the cryptids trading

Trade is the act of exchanging cards or items between players. Players may trade cards for other cards, or coins for items such as Traps . More commonly however, cards are often traded in exchange for items of high worth such as Energy Drinks and Power Potions, or vice versa.

Players may make trade requests with any other player, regardless of level. Up to five requests may be made at one time. When a request has been made, it will pend for up to 48 hours unless the request is accepted, denied or canceled.

Items or cards which are included in trades are automatically removed from both players’ inventories and put on hold until the trade request is completed or canceled. If a trade is denied or canceled, both players will receive the requested items back.

There are certain items which cannot be traded between players. These include:

  • Bound Items
  • Promotional items
  • Gems
  • Referral Cards
  • LCP Claim Tickets

Battling Factors in Legend Of The Cryptids

legend of the cryptids battling

legend of the cryptids battling

When engaging in a battle, the total attack or defense rating of players is determined by several factors.

  • Level
    • While level does not directly impact the results of a battle, players of higher levels are more likely to win due to having a larger amount of accumulated attribute points. To prevent high leveled players from praying on lower leveled ones, the game automatically matches players with others of a similar level. As well, if a high leveled player attacks a low leveled one, the game activates a feature called “Divine Punishment”, which automatically results in a loss for the attacking player. Divine Punishment does not kick in every time, but the odds are much higher if there is a large disparity in opponent levels.
  • Account Element
    • When players first create a game account, they are asked to select one of the three elements. The player automatically receives a 5% stat boost for using cards of that element in battle.
  • Card Skills
    • Each cryptid card comes with its own skill which causes a unique effect to take place during battle. Some skills boost attack of a certain element, while other skills may decrease the opponent’s defense. Skills tend to activate at random, but the chances of a particular skill activating increases as the level of the skill increases. Also, the first cryptid in your front line will use its skill almost all the time.
  • Elemental Effects
    • When in battle, element matches somewhat affect attack and defense ratings. Fire cards have reduced attack against water cards, water cards have reduced attack against forest cards, and forest cards have reduced attack on fire cards. Likewise, fire cards have increased attack against forest cards, and so on. Only one element effect takes place at a time, which is usually determined based on which elements have the most cards being represented in battle.
  • Battle Boosts
    • When players initiate a battle, they receive a 10% attack boost the next time they initiate another battle. This bonus usually only lasts for a short period of time, and may only be initiated once.
  • Trap
    • Traps items that can be used to protect a player’s treasure against an opponent. Players which target treasures which have been protected by traps automatically lose the battle, regardless of level and attack power. The only way to completely avoid a trap is not to target another player’s treasure.

Rewards

  • Treasure
    • Players may initiate a battle in order to take another player’s treasure.
  • Coins
    • A certain amount is awarded for winning a battle. Coins are awarded whether players target treasure or not. Should an attack fail, players may lose some coins instead. Note that while players may receive coins for winning, coins are not actually being taken from other players.
  • Battle Stats
    • Battle stats are comprised of the amount of victories in both Offensive and Defensive battles a player has participated in.

Parameter Points: Parameter points are tied to a card and help determine how well and how long you can battle for.  There are only three parameters that you can spend points on, which are displayed above. Energy defines how much energy your card has to continue fighting, while attack and defense power are self-explainable.
    Legend of the Cryptids

Premium Packs: In order to get the really good cards, you’re simply going to have to suck it up and purchase premium packs like the one noted above. These packs contain the “rare” and “ultra” cards that will send your game to the next level.
    Legend of the Cryptids

Gems: In order to purchase premium packs and other assorted goodies, you will have to purchase “gems”, which is the premium currency that the game has. The prices are noted above. There unfortunately are no discounts for bigger purchases.
    Legend of the Cryptids

Battles: If you’re bored of questing, you can battle other players.  Choose the battle option at the bottom of your screen to begin, select your opponent, then your cards, and get to fighting. These all come down to dice rolls and how good of a card you possess with regards to attack and defense.  Winning battles earns you rewards that will help you in the next battle.
Guild: In addition to friendships, there is a guild system.  The guild acts as a backup or assistance when you attack or defend against other players.

Battling in Legend Of The Cryptids

legend of the cryptids battle

legend of the cryptids battle

Battle is a feature in the Legend of the Cryptids where players engage in combat with other players using their cryptid cards. Players may battle for various incentives such as other players’ Treasure or Coins. Players may also battle simply to improve their Battle Record for the sake of it.

Players which initiate a battle are on offense, and utilize their cryptids’ total attack rating. Players being attacked are on defense, and utilize their cryptids’ total defense rating. Unlike attacking, defending against an attack is an automatic process which is done independent of players.

The winner of a battle is decided based on the total attack of the player on offense, and the total defense of a defending player. Whoever has a higher value wins the battle. The attack and defense rating of players is decided based on the attack or defense rating of a player’s front line cards, as well as additional cards in the back line.

The front line is composed of up to five cards which are usually the cards with the highest attack or defense. Cards in the front line are given priority to participate in a battle over other cards in a player’s deck. There are two front lines: the Attack Front Line and the Defense Front Line.

Attack Front Line
These cards are the primary offensive unit when engaging in battle. Cards with a high attack attribute are often selected for this front line.

Defense Front Line
These cards are the primary defensive unit when defending against other players. Cards with a high defense attribute are often selected for this line.

The default recommended front line is automatically assembled by the game based on the best cards suited for offense or defense, depending on the line, with the goal of having as high an overall attack or defense as possible. A player may also choose to create their own front line.

Power Rating

When cards participate in a battle, they require a certain amount of power from the player in order to be utilized. Cards used in offense require attack power, and cards on defense require defense power. An individual card’s power rating decides how much is needed in battle.

If a player does not have enough current power, the attack or defense of cryptids in the front line automatically scales down, depending on how much power is available. If a player’s attack or defense power is too low, cryptids in the front line may be excluded from battle all together. The weakest cryptids are usually excluded when this happens.

Back line

If there is extra power left after the front line uses up its required amount of power, the remaining amount is automatically utilized by the game to bring in additional cryptids from a player’s deck as back line support. The strongest cards are usually chosen automatically by the game to be part of the back line, depending on how much power is left. Cards which participate as part of a back line have their attack or defense capped at 80% of their value. Skills cannot be activated by any of the backline cards when attacking.

Enhance Experience Gain in Legend Of The Cryptids

legend of the cryptids enhance

legend of the cryptids enhance

Experiments show that cards with higher PWR requirement gives slightly higher XP to the base card. Table 1 shows the XP comparisons. Incidentally, these are the % gains for the first enhancement of any cards (from Lvl 1). The quality of the base cards do not affect the exp gained apart from its lvl.

  • Common EX cards provide 215% XP of common cards. i.e. 15% bonus XP.
  •  “Great Success” provide 50% bonus XP.
  • If the element of enhancing card and based card match up, 24% bonus XP is applied.

XP provided by enhancing cards

PWR 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
Common Card XP 100 104 108 112 116 120 124 128 132

Enhance Experience Gain Formula

The mathematical formula for enhancing experience % gain is calculated as following. Each level requires a successively larger amount of XP values for level up, .

Required XP for each level

BaseCardLvl 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 59
Required XP 100 120 140 160 180 200 220 240 260 1260

The percentage gained when enhanced is calculated as:

Enhance % gain = Enhancing Card XP / Required XP x 100%

For example, let’s say we use a PWR 2 common card to enhance a level-5 card. The percentage gained will be:

 % gain = 100/180 x100% = 55.5556%.

The system will show 56% increase in experience gain.

Let’s try more complicated example. Let’s say we use three PWR 9 common cards and one PWR 2 common EX card to enhance a level 8 card. Also let’s say Great Success has been achieved. Great Success gives 50% bonus XP. Then XP from the enhancing cards is (3 x 128 + 215) x 1.5 = 898.5. The percentage gain will be:

 % gain = 898.5/240 x 100% = 374%

Please test out this formula and see it works for every card levels and every types of cards. I have tested up to Rare base card enhanced with common and common EX’s. Especially XP values generated by rares are yet to be found.

The Process of Enhancing in Legend Of The Cryptids

enhancing

enhancing

Enhancing is the act of increasing a card’s experience through the sacrifice of another card. As cards gain experience, they increase in both level and strength. With every level gained, a cards ATK and DEF values increase by a certain value depending on the card itself.

The amount of experience gained from enhancing depends on the rarity and strength of the enhancer cards, as well as the their element. Stronger cards will generally contribute more experience, as will cards of the same element as the one being enhanced. As cards gain levels, they will begin to require more and more experience In order to level up.

Coins are required as a price for enhancing. The exact cost depends on the level of the card being enhanced, and the number of enhancer cards. As the level of the enhanced card goes up, so does the price of each individual enhancer used thereafter.

Enhancing Services
It is worth noting that there are also players who offer enhancing services. For a fee, usually in Energy Drinks, they can enhance any card a player should desire up to its maximum level. They can also enhance a card’s level should a player wish. Because Enhancers often work with very rare cards, collateral is often given to clients to ensure honesty on both sides. The actual fee charged by Enhancers varies from person to person.

  • It is impractical to enhance a card’s Skill level before you Evolve it, if you are going to use the Evolved card to enhance another card.
  • When evolving two particularly strong cards together, it is best to enhance both to their maximum levels in order to earn the 10% evolving bonus. This ensures the new evolved card reaches its maximum possible attack and defense stats. Evolved cards which have reached their maximum possible values are known as “Perfect Max” cards.
  • When enhancing cards, use “Common” cards to enhance through level 12. After level 12 it is cheaper to evolve many “Common” cards into fewer “Common EX” cards to use as the enhancer cards. The cost of evolving cards stays the same regardless of the cards themselves, while the cost of enhancing rises as the enhanced card levels up. As such, enhancing a high level card with two EX cards costs less than using four non-EX cards, since both ways contribute practically the same experience. Enhancing a card of level 12 is the break even point, both methods cost about the same.
  • If you are going to evolve rare cards, both rare cards should be enhanced to their maximum first.

Enhancing Cryptids: With enhancing Cryptids, you can simply sacrifice unneeded cards to enhance a current, more suitable Cryptid.

Enhance Cost in Legend Of The Cryptids

legend of the cryptids enhance cost

legend of the cryptids enhance cost

As base card level up, the cost of enhancing increases. These are the enhancing costs under ‘half-off enhancing campaign’. Each level up increases the cost by 50 coins.
Cost per Enhancing Card

BaseCardLvl 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 59
Cost per Enhancing Card 75 125 175 225 275 325 375 425 475 2975

From the above considerations, the cost of maxing out a card can be roughly calculated. The cost of leveling stacks each level because of the increase in number of cards required as well as the cost per card used. Thus, the cost of leveling each level will be:

Cost per level = Number of cards used per level x cost per enhancing card

Here cost per enhancing card are the values given in Table 3. If we supply the enhancing procedure from lvl1 all the way up to lvl 60 with PWR 2 common cards only (each providing 100 XP), it can be roughly calculated that:

Number of cards used per level = required XP / 100

where required XP are the values given in Table 1. Cost per level is basically multiplication between Table 1 and Table 3 divided by the XP per card. Table 4 shows the rough estimate of the enhancing cost per level if PWR 2 common cards are used all the way up.

 Cost per Level

BaseCardLvl 2 3 4 20 30 40 50 60 70
#cards 1 1.2 1.4 4.6 6.6 8.6 10.6 12.6 14.6
Cost per lvl 75 150 245 4,485 9,735 16,985 26,235 37,485 50,735
Cummulative 75 225 470 33,630 105,705 241,280 460,355 782,930 1,229,005

Note: here base card lvl is the destination lvl.

As a conclusion, to max out Ultra Rare EX using lowest quality PWR2 common cards only, roughly 1,229,000 coins are consumed purely for enhancing fees.

If the efficient method specified in the Tip above is used, that is to use common cards up to level 12 and then to switch to common EX cards, the cost for enhancing reduces significantly. The following table shows the estimate of the enhancing costs + evolving costs to reach from fresh to desired level. In Table 5, #cards is the cumulative total number of PWR2 cards consumed to reach the level. If higher PWR cards were used, the actual number may be smaller than this.

Cost to reach level from fresh card (using efficient method)

BaseCardLvl 12 20 30 40 50 60 70
#cards 22 51 104 176 266 375 502
Cost 6,668 22,917 62,245 129,706 232,801 379,031 575,899

Based on this estimation, finally, the cost of PM making can be estimated. PM means Perfect Max .

Cost to make PM cards (using efficient method)

Rarity Common Rare UltraRare
#cards 206 618 1,252
Cost 108,079 492,213 1,333,961

Hopefully, these estimations create some guideline in budgeting enhancing before actually doing it.

Skill Level in Legend Of The Cryptids

Legend Of The Cryptids skill level

Legend Of The Cryptids skill level

Skills

Skills are special abilities used by cards in battle. The effects vary depending on the card. Some common skill effects include boosts to front line attacks, decrease in opponent front line defenses, and elemental boosts. Skills affect both the front line and the back line of either player, but only front line cards can activate skills in battle.

Skills are generally restricted only to Rare and Ultra Rare cards, though there are some Common cards which possess skills.

Skill Level

Just like a card’s regular level, a card’s skill also has levels. Similarly, skills may be upgraded through the act of Enhancing a maximum of 9 times for a total level of 10. As skill level increases, so does the chance of that skill activating. Skill effectiveness also increases as level increases. As well, even after a card has reached its maximum level, a card’s skill level can still be enhanced up to the tenth level.

Only enhancer cards with skills have a realistic chance of enhancing another cards skill level, though on occasion non-skilled Common cards can in fact enhance skill levels. The odds of this happening are quite low however, and such an occurrence is considered extremely rare.

A card’s skill level can also be increased through enhancing. This is accomplished by using cards with skills, such as skilled Common cards or Rare (or Ultra Rare) cards, as the enhancer card. Due to the rarity of certain cards, it is usually impractical to use Ultra Rare or strong Rare cards as a skill enhancer. Most often, “Junk Rares” are used for this purpose. It should be noted that a cards skill level can still be enhanced even after the card has reached its maximum level. As skill level of the base card increases, the effect of the skill chance diminishes. It is said that small chance of leveling (~1%) still exists when common cards with no skill are used. Some higher skill level cards may exploit this small probability by enhancing numerous small steps using large number of common cards.

The following tables show the “Skill Up Chance” when enhancing a card skill Level 1 with an other skilled card.

(h) -> hypothetical.

(?)-> previous entered data that does not look correct.

Enhancing a Skill Common (&CommonEX) Lvl1
Rarity SkCommon SkCommonEX Rare RareEX UltraRare UltraRareEX
Lvl1 +40% +50% +60% +70%(h) +80% +100%
Lvl2 +26%(h) +33%(h) +40%(h) +46%(h) +53%(h) +66%(h)
Lvl3  ? ?  ? ?  ?  ?
Enhancing a Skill Rare Lvl1

Lvl1 +20% +30% +40% +50% +60%  ?

Lvl1  ? +10% +20% +30%  ?  ?
Lvl2  ? ?  ? ?  ?  ?
Lvl3 +2% +5% +10% ?  ?  ?

It is worth noting too that the skill level of the sacrificed card will affect the Skill Up Chance. A card sacrificed of skill level 2 will have a higher chance to level up the skill of a card than a card with skill level 1. From this chart it looks like the Skill Up Chance formula would be :

SkillUpChance % = 1/2 + (2/3)^(ED_Skill_lvl-1)*(1-ER_Stars)/10 – round(ED_Stars/2)

ED = Ehanced Card

ER = Ehancer Card.

The only parameter not taken into account is the ER Skill level. This formula was based on it being 1.

The Process of Evolving in Legend Of The Cryptids

legend of the cryptids evolve

legend of the cryptids evolve

Evolving is the act of combining two cards of the same kind in order to create a more powerful variant, known as the EX variant. Evolved cards usually have an additional word in brackets just before the name of the card to indicate that it is evolved. Similiar to enhancing, the act of evolving also requires coins.

When a card is evolved, its Level and Skill level are both reset to one as a price for having a higher maximum attack and defense stat. Additionally, both cards that are used in the process each contribute 5% of their attack and defense stats to the new card. If both cards are at their maximum level, they will each contribute 10%.

Because the new card’s level is reset to one, players must once again enhance the card in order to reach its new maximum stats. In addition, the maximum level is increased by ten, further increasing the time required to reach the cards new ceiling.

A card’s rarity value also changes after evolving. Evolved cards usually have an increase in rarity value by one star. The evolved cards new rarity value depends on the rarity of the cards used in evolving. The following chart illustrates the rarity values of cards both before and after evolving.

Unlike other TCGs, you may not Evolve cards beyond their basic Rarity level; Common cards will not evolve to Rare cards, and Rare cards will not evolve to Ultra Rare cards. Referral Cards are an exception to this rule as they can be evolved multiple times..

Stat Calculations of Evolved Cards (Base is Regular Lvl 1 Stats):
Lvl 1 Max Lvl
Imperfect Ex x1.3 x3.1
Perfect Ex x1.7 x3.5
Regular - x2.5
  • When evolving two particularly strong cards together, it is often better to enhance both to their maximum levels in order to ensure that the new evolved card reaches its maximum possible attack and defense stats. Evolved cards which have reached their maximum possible values are known as “Perfect Max” cards. A Perfect Max card will carry over 10% of the evolving card’s base atk/def stats. Evolving two cards together without maxing their evolution will only carry over 5% of their base atk/def stats
  • It is impractical to enhance most cards’ Skill level before you Evolve it, as the process of evolving resets the new card’s Skill level to 1.
  • When evolving Rare cards, typically a rare card with a power level of 7 or below is considered a “Junk Rare” and is not worth the perfect max.

Card Evolution: Between your card packs, quest rewards and so on, you will likely get two of the same cards at some point. Usually this would be a drag, but not in Legend of Cryptids!Instead, if you get two of the same cards, you can “evolve” the card into one much more powerful card through its card evolution system. See below—I evolved two vanilla water dragons into a “Illusionary Black Dragon”, which has a higher level than the previous two cards, with higher attack and defense power.
